"I absolutely loved this story! The road to happiness for Jack & Jil and Harper & Evangeline is a quirky, cleverly constructed, hilarious journey that had me chuckling the whole way. The characters are so well drawn and loveable, even the secondary characters had me wishing I could meet them in person. Jil and Jack’s siblings, the twins and triplets, are a squabbling ball of fun and their mother, Lydia, is especially adorable in her fantasy world. I can just imagine being in the middle of this family and loving every minute of it. Evangeline is my image of the perfect older woman. She’s spunky, smart and knows exactly what she wants. She’s a real firecracker! Everything about this story is just perfectly done. It was such a treat to witness Harper’s dogged pursuit of Vangie and Jack’s determination to finally have Jil along with all the madcap wackiness erupting around them. Mimi Riser is a highly creative and clever author and I will be on the lookout to gobble up anything else she writes. “Every Jack Needs His Jil” is a book that will have a special place on my keeper shelf."

"Every Jack Needs His Jil was a pleasure to read. It was upbeat and entertaining, even the sad parts are smoothed over with laughter and sweetness. Jil and Jack are great characters. They are strong and vibrant which was needed in this tale because the other love story of the mature Vangie and Harper would overshadow anything less. Those two are a laugh a minute. When they get near each other, the sparks fly.
The series potential for this book is incredible. Besides the main characters, there are a set of twins and a set of triplets all single and unattached. This family is a pleasure to get to know from quiet caregiver, Jil; to Sam, the guardian; and his no longer chubby twin. To the oft bickering musical trio to Momma Lydia who is always entertaining from her diverse fantasy group of friends. This book cries out to be put on the keeper shelf."
